DRESS CODE IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Acceptable
- Smart casual or formal wear
- Golf wear specifically designed for the purpose of playing golf
- Clean smart footwear with socks (ladies without socks if preferred)
- Tailored golf shorts with predominantly white socks
- For formal presentations and prize givings Gentlemen should wear jacket or suit, with tie, cravat or roll neck jumper. Ladies should wear a comparable standard of dress
Unacceptable
- Golf shoes, trainers, flip flops, or not wearing any footwear, waterproof golf clothing
- Cargo pants, combat trousers and trousers with drawstring waist or legs, jeans or track suit clothing
- Non-golf shirts without collar or sleeves and shirts not tucked into trousers (men only), T-shirts, vests, football/rugby shirts or any attire that could be considered beachwear
- Hats of any description
- Mobile phones anywhere in the clubhouse
DRESS CODE IN THE DINING ROOM
- Club or inter Club match luncheons or dinners Gentlemen should wear jacket or suit, with tie. Ladies should wear a comparable standard of dress
- For Sunday lunches a relaxed standard of dress is accepted as smart casual but it would be preferred if gentlemen were to arrive with jacket (tie optional)
- After 7.00pm Gentlemen should wear jacket or suit, with tie. Ladies should wear a comparable standard of dress. A relaxed form of dress will be allowed for specifically advertised events
DRESS CODE ON THE COURSE OR PRACTICE AREAS
Acceptable
- Golf wear specifically designed for the purpose of playing golf
- Footwear specifically designed for playing golf with spikes or soft spikes
- Tailored golf shorts or trousers
- With tailored shorts predominantly white ankle socks or long socks of any colour
- Head wear as it is designed to be worn
Unacceptable
- Non-golf shirts without collar or sleeves, T-shirts, vests, football/rugby shirts or any attire that could be considered beachwear
- Wearing of trainers, golf shoes without socks
- Normal dress socks unless wearing long trousers
- Cargo pants, combat trousers and trousers with drawstring waist or legs, jeans or track suit clothing
- Trousers tucked into socks (except Plus-4's & Plus-2's) & shirts not tucked into trousers (men only)
The Board of Directors have instructed management and staff working on behalf of Worthing Golf Club
that should they become aware of members or visitors not meeting this dress code in their judgment,
they should politely inform the individual(s) and ask them to change. If the individual(s) choose
not to do so they will be asked to leave the clubhouse, course or practise areas.
